Grab an empty spray bottle and spray those pumpkins with 1 tbsp of clorox bleach mixed with 1 qt water to help prevent any rot! If you carve them, spray inside too! Let them dry and then proceed with the coating (below) to keep them looking shiny and clean as long as possible!
Spraying pumpkins with an acrylic coating (sold in the spray paint section) or coat with petroleum jelly to keep them protected. Recommending to us before design to place them under a covered porch or out of direct sunlight will also help them last longer!
If your pumpkins start to turn a different color but still feel firm on the outside, (White ones usually do this first) grab some acrylic paint or spray paint them back white! They will continue to last after painting.
For potted chrysanthemums it is recommended to keep the soil most and never let it dry out or be so soggy that it starts to rot. Well draining containers and consistent water are key. Keep your eye out on the weather though because it likes to throw curve balls this time of year!
